IGN Talks Expansion Packs
IGN released an interview with Will Wright on August 9th entitled Interview: Will Wright on Breeding Spore, by Daemon Hatfield. A lot of what has been said already is being repeated, but they have some fresh expansion pack questions that really caught my eye.
Yes- they are planning on expansion packs. I quote Will Wright: "We've thought a little about that. When you're making a game, you start out with all these ideas. Then as the deadline draws near, you have to start cutting stuff out. And that stuff is the first content you want to get into expansions." With the next couple questions, he continues on to say that one of the things on the cusp of being cut out right now is the ability to have underwater creatures.
Nice blog guys, best place for spore news. Back on the figurine post, will they be to scale? For example, I will probably have one of each on my races. Some will be hamster sized, some elephant. So I want the elephant ones to look big, and the hamster ones to look small cause Ill have them all side byh side

We really don't have anymore information that what has already been disclosed, but it would appear that the creatures are to scale. I think its also good to point out that creatures can't be but so small or so big. We will find out for sure once they start being released for sure.

Man whats wrong with them they didnt release spore yet and they think about expansions. First we wana see original spore!

lol I don't think anything is wrong with them... it's just business. They want their product to have shelf life, and expansions have been such a success with their Sims franchise. On the other hand, I'm thrilled that there will be a sequel to Spore! ^_^

Don't think about expansions in terms of what new they'll bring... think of them more in terms of...
All those great movies, and screenshots, and interviews you've seen, with fantastically innovative gameplay - how much of that is now NOT being included in Spore, and being wrapped up as an expansion instead.
